The
Winthrop
Rockefeller Foundation is a private, nonprofit
foundation dedicated to improving the economic
and social well being of Arkansas and its people.
Created in 1974 by an endowment from the estate
of Governor Winthrop Rockefeller, the Foundation
has made gifts and grants of more than $54 million
to nonprofit organizations and educational institutions.
The
Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation mission is to
improve the quality of life for those who reside
in Arkansas. They promote the strengthening of
the Arkansas community by using its resources
in three general areas: economic development,
education, and economic, racial and social justice.
Ross
Foundation
The
Ross Foundation is a private philanthropic organization
which owns and manages timber in Southwest Arkansas.
Income to support the Foundation's program is
generated by the sale of forest products originating
from its land base.
The
philanthropic program of the Foundation focuses
on projects which have a direct impact on the
region of Arkansas, including educational, community,
economic, conservation, and cultural enrichment
in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
