An Initiative From:

Conway Public School District

Conway, Arkansas, located approximately 30 miles from Little Rock, began its first year as a School of the 21st Century in 2003.

The Conway Public School District is proud to have several core components already in place. After-school programs have been in the elementary schools for the past two years, while Conway Adult Education Center and Even Start provide education for adults and early care.

Information and referral services are being created and utilized. The health education and services will be one of the great features of this program. Families in the community will be able to get much needed medical and dental check-ups that they could not afford in the past.

The goals for this year are:
** To increase parent involvement
** To increase preschool achievement
** To provide medical/dental services and education.

In this district of approximately 8,000 students, there are eight elementary schools, the Conway Adult Education Center, Even Start/Edu-Kids Preschool, two middle schools, and the junior and senior high schools.

The Even Start/Edu-Kids preschool has an infant room for eight children, a toddler room for six, and a preschool room for fourteen children.
