Role in Program:
Research Assistant & Community Connector
Professional Interests:
As a research assistant I am involved with many aspects of different PRCH projects, from interviewing and conducting literature reviews to working on papers and grants. In addition I am also a community connector; in that capacity I work as a mentor with people who are in recovery. I love that my roles here allow me to combine theory and research with direct work with individuals.
I am particularly interested in the roles that trauma histories and gender issues play in mental illness and in recovery. My educational background is in creative writing and literature, so I am also excited about learning about--and getting involved in--the incorporation of the arts into mental health services.
Personal Interests:
I love to read and write. I’ll read almost anything, but mostly write fiction. Though I’m not generally a sports fan, I adore the New Orleans Saints (and really anything New Orleanian, especially the food)!
