Named Successor Trustee in 2006, Jeffrey L. Bewkes is chief executive officer of Time Warner Inc., which comprises Time Inc. publishing; Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema studios; HBO, CNN, and the Turner networks; AOL’s Internet business; and Time Warner cable. After graduating from Yale and earning an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business, he worked in banking for two years and then joined Home Box Office, where he rose through the ranks and became chief executive officer in 1995. In 2002 he became group chairman responsible for Time Warner’s television, film, and music interests, and in 2006 he became chief operating officer for Time Warner overall. Mr. Bewkes serves on the board of Time Warner Inc. and the board of the American Museum of the Moving Image, and on the advisory boards of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the American Museum of Natural History, the Creative Coalition, and the Paley Center for Media. He is a former member of the University Council.
