¡¡ Spring Festival
Spring festival is the most important holiday in Chinese culture, also known
as the Chinese New Year. To the Chinese people it is as important as Christmas
to people in the West. The dates for this annual celebration are determined by
the lunar calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar, so the timing of the
holiday varies from late January to early February. ACSSY celebrates spring
festival in a various ways, including the stage show, the riddle and game party,
and the dancing party, etc. We welcome everybody in the Yale community to join and
have fun with us.
Mid-Autumn Festival
Since ancient times, the moon has been an eternal subject of Chinese culture. The moonlight of Mid-Autumn Festival brings particular warmth and ease to the hearts of Chinese people. In China, the full moon has always represented the gatherings of friends and family. Thus, Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunions. Eating moon cakes under the moonlight with the family is the Chinese custom at that night. Every year at this nostalgic moment, ACSSY¡¯s Mid-Autumn festival party provides an opportunity for people to get together and have moon cakes. The party is open to the whole Yale community.
