Alumni Interviews
Alumni Interviews
In many parts of the United States and around the world, Yale Alumni Schools Committees (ASCs) serve as liaisons between prospective Yale students and the Admissions Office. Each ASC receives the names of local applicants and schedules individual interviews over the course of the application season. Although the interview is not required, Yale alumni can be very helpful, and whenever possible, applicants are urged to take advantage of this opportunity for a personal exchange with a well-informed Yale graduate. Please note that students will not be offered alumni interviews until after they have submitted their admissions applications to Yale. Alumni interviews are evaluative, meaning that an interview report will be sent to the Admissions Office to be read with a student’s other application materials.
Information for Class of 2014 applicants
If you attend a school covered by a local ASC, you will be contacted by a member of the committee for an interview once we have received and processed your application.
If you need any additional information please feel free to email Ms. Donna Alchimio, Alumni School Committee Coordinator, at donna.alchimio@yale.edu.
General information about Alumni Interviews
While ASC interviews are available in most parts of the United States and in many foreign countries, there are places where we do not offer alumni interviews. If an alumni interview is not available in the place you live, this should not be a cause for concern. Interviews are not required in order for us to evaluate an application, and we do not disadvantage students who for one reason or another are not able to obtain an interview.
