QuestBridge 2008-2009
Yale is thrilled to continue its partnership with QuestBridge, a program that attracts some of the nation’s brightest young students.
The QuestBridge organization is a non-profit group that puts high achieving, low income students in touch with educational opportunities across the nation. Their National College Match program is an alternative early admissions program that tailors the application process to these students. The 2007 College Match, through QuestBridge’s 20 partner colleges, links students with financial aid and scholarship opportunities on an accelerated timeline.
The College Match program is a two phase process. During the first phase, students fill out and submit the special College Match application to QuestBridge, ranking up to eight of Questbridge’s partner schools based on their preferences. QuestBridge evaluates these students to select finalists. During the second phase, QuestBridge forwards the applications of finalists to the partner schools those students have ranked. The partner schools then evaluate the applications, and if they choose to offer admission to a finalist, that student has been ‘matched’ with his or her choice school. Students who match with multiple colleges attend the institution at the top of the ranking list that they submitted with their application.
Yale’s involvement in the College Match Process differs slightly from that of many other QuestBridge partners. If you are applying to Yale through the College Match Program, click here for more information and frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer to your question, please feel free to email us at questbridge@yale.edu.
Students who apply through Questbridge and do not match are still welcome and encouraged to apply to Yale directly through our Regular Decision admissions program. Please click here for more information.
