Please refer to the Yale Holiday Calendar for a list of holidays. Our office is closed on these dates and there will be no tours or information sessions.

Let us know you’re coming! (optional)

Registration is not required to visit Yale. However, if you are making plans to visit Yale, please consider letting us know in advance by using our online Campus Visit system. (Please do not call our office.) It is helpful for us to know how many visitors to expect on any given day so that we can arrange for appropriate facilities or tour guides. Keep in mind that you are welcome to come to any session or tour, even if you have not told us you will be there.

If your plans change, please do not call our office to cancel; we’ll just hope you can make it another time!

Information Sessions and Tours

Information Sessions

These are informal group information sessions for prospective applicants and their families. An admissions officer or a student intern will discuss academic programs, undergraduate life, the application process, and financial aid.

Campus Tours

All tours are led by Yale students. Tours start at 38 Hillhouse Avenue, end in Old Campus and last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. Please see campus map for details.

Sciences at Yale Tour

In addition to our general campus tour we also offer a more in-depth tour for students interested in studying the Physical Sciences and the Biological Sciences at the times listed below. Specific programs of interest include: Astronomy and Astrophysics; Chemistry; Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry; Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology; Geology and Geophysics; and Physics.

 

Fall Schedule: September 21 - December 11   Monday - Thursday   1:30 PM

On this tour, guests will visit science classrooms and teaching/research laboratories. The tour guide will discuss available programs of study and pre-medical requirements. He or she will also highlight some of Yale's cutting-edge research and the institution's distinguished scientific history. Your guide will also explain how undergraduates can become involved in exciting research opportunities. Of course, the tour guide will also be happy to answer any of your questions. All Sciences at Yale tours begin and end at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 38 Hillhouse Avenue and last approximately one hour.

Engineering Tour

Students and parents eager to explore Yale’s Engineering programs, facilities, and laboratories can take our Engineering Tour. Our tour guides are Engineering majors who can discuss departments, course requirements, undergraduate research, and the reasons why they chose to come to Yale to study Engineering. We also encourage our guests to check out the new School of Engineering and Applied Science website.

Student Forums

Over the summer, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts a series of Student Forums. These informal, non-evaluative sessions allow visiting students (no parents!) to meet in a small group with current Yale students (no admissions officers!) to ask specific questions about life at Yale.
