Child Labor in Central Egypt

This February, when Egypt played host to the African Cup football tournament,
first lady Suzanne Mubarak appeared on almost as many billboards as the

Letting Down the Women of Africa

When HIV/AIDS was identified in the US in the 1980s, the victims were primarily gay men. In the twenty-five years since then, AIDS has spread to all demographics. In sub-Saharan Africa, women are the most adversely affected by the pandemic, and they account for 59% of all HIV positive cases. Young women in sub-Saharan Africa between the ages of 15 and 25 are 2-6 times more likely to be infected than their male counterparts. ... More>>
