ArtParlor is a group of artists, designers, art-historians, and art-enthusiasts at Yale University. ArtParlor is focused on forging connections between students who engage in different approaches to visual work, and on providing an alternative to the experience of discrete categorization in the arts. In essence, ArtParlor invites discussion and promotes collaboration.
ArtParlor was formed in 2008 to design and construct a website for undergraduate students at Yale University, which consolidates and integrates all of the information about fine art in and around New Haven, CT. The website is also intended to encourage conversation between students in different departments.
In addition to the website, ArtParlor is initiating other projects to expand and enhance Yale's undergraduate art community. ArtParlor will be organizing lectures and panel discussions with Yale faculty, as well as visiting artists and art historians, on specific topics relating to interdisciplinary collaboration.
Membership is open to all Yale students. Officers are selected at the end of the spring semester and each term lasts for one academic year. Officer positions are limited to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled at Yale University.
