Establishment of Business Services Improvement: Appointment of Stephen Murphy as Director

On June 3, 2004, Vice President for Finance and Administration John E. Pepper announced the appointment, effective July 1, 2004, of Stephen C. Murphy as Director, Business Services Improvement, reporting directly to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Steve previously served as Director of Finance and Administration for the Yale Office of Cooperative Research (OCR) and recently served as Co-chair of ASSET’s Business Services Task Force.

In his announcement John explained, “As Director, Steve will be responsible for overseeing the entire portfolio of business improvement projects, including identifying their relative benefits and investments; leading the prioritization of these initiatives; coordinating their execution; managing selected business improvement projects personally; and, on an ongoing basis, helping to identify new high leverage opportunities for business improvement. He will ensure we remain focused on the highest priorities and drive them forward to successful implementation.”
