The Samuel Hemingway Music Room
Located in the basement of North Court (directly below entryway H), the Samuel Hemingway Music Room - named after the second Master of Berkeley - is equipped with a Steinway grand piano, a music stand, and chairs. All Berkeley students are welcome and encouraged to use this beautiful space, and keys can be obtained in the Master's Office. Students who wish to reserve the room for personal rehearsals can sign up on the sheet posted on the door. Each student is limited to three hours/day of rehearsal time, and there are no sign-ups after 11:00 p.m.
The following rules apply to all musical (singing, orchestral) and theatrical groups:
1) All groups must have at least two Berkeleyites who are active members before they can use the room.
2) Groups with two or more Berkeleyites (who are active members) must receive the permission of the Master to use the space.
3) Groups with two or more Berkeleyites (who are active members) and which receive the permission of the Master may only use the space twice a month, or once every other week.
