Missing Departments!

Sally Jones, 101 WWW is not a correct campus address!

Insufficiently addressed campus mail arrives in our mail rooms daily.  Since this mail must be individually looked up, the entire mail system is slowed for everyone.

One of the major causes of insufficiently addressed campus mail is that the department name is missing.  The department name is especially important in the medical area as they sort by department, not location.  Also, keep in mind that Internal Medicine (a department with numerous subdepartments) is not sufficient for delivery.  The division of Internal Medicine, such as Endocrinology, is required for correct delivery.

REMEMBER:
  • Be sure you are using only official Yale University Interoffice Mail envelopes and fill them out completely.
  • Use an up to date directory if you are unsure of the correct address, or check the address online at http://www.yale.edu/search/directories.html and select Yale Phonebook.
  • Campus mail with insufficient addresses is returned to sender.  All campus addresses consist of:
    Person's Name
    Department
    Campus Address
Please call the campus mail room with any questions regarding proper addressing or visit our web site at:  http://www.yale.edu/campusmail/toc.htm
