Undergraduate Career Services provides students with an array of services that can help them to identify their interests and abilities, learn about career options, acquire practical experiences, and prepare themselves for their next steps after Yale. Early engagement is important if students are to take maximum advantage of the available programs - a counseling appointment during freshman year is recommended.
Career Counseling and Development
Through more than 5,000 individual appointments and over 100 organized programs and events each year, UCS looks to provide many opportunities for students to explore the various career options they have available to them or solidify goals they have already set.
Internship Opportunities
Internships continue to grow as an important part of the college experience and the career exploration process. Our internship opportunities include several unique to Yale, as well as a database of internships numbering in the thousands. UCS also assists students as students design their own internships, which can often result in a highly rewarding experience.
On-Campus Recruiting
Our recruiting programs continue to remain strong, and have actually expanded. We have also partnered to develop new hiring events in New York City and Washington, DC focusing on fields including: advertising, book publishing, public relations, think tanks, and law offices.
Graduate and Professional School
For those seeking to continue their education - whether immediately following their undergraduate degree, or years later - UCS provides graduate school advising (to complement that of our faculty) and professional school advising. UCS works very closely with students and alumni to help them navigate the various processes and can advise them whenever they choose to apply.
