The Science and Policy of Coastal Eutrophication and Restoration

The 2003 Munson Marine Conservation Lecture Series

Beth Owen, MEM 'O4, CCWS Newsletter Editor

This past fall, CCWS was able to host another outstanding Munson Marine Conservation Lecture Series, funded by the Curtis and Edith Munson Foundation. Seven distinguished lecturers from state and federal agencies and academic institutions spoke on a variety of topics related to the science and policy of coastal eutrophication and restoration. In addition to being open and well attended by the general public and the greater Yale community, the Munson Lecture Series was organized as a class within the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. The format offered students unique opportunities to ask questions and learn more about the visiting lecturers' work. The FES graduate students in the Munson course prepared the following lecture summaries for the CCWS newsletter and website. Previous years' Munson lecture summaries also appear on the website, at URL: http://www.yale.edu/ccws/
