POSTED 9:12 am 5/27/10 - Information regarding your Yale email account and bounce back messages.

Due to a large number of Phishing scams and some comprimised Yale email accounts, Microsoft, Comcast, and Roadrunner have blocked email from the yale.edu domain. If you have your Yale mail set to forward to an address at one of these services (such as hotmail.com, live.com, **.rr.com, comcast.net, etc.), it will get bounced back to your Yale account. Also, you will not be able to send emails from your Yale account to these domains. ITS is aware of the issue and continues to work with these outside companies to remove the blocks currently in place.

POSTED 2:45 pm 5/21/09 - Information regarding graduating students and your Yale email account.

Email accounts for members of graduating classes will be removed at 5:00 AM on October 1. All messages sent to your email account after this time will be bounced back to the sender. Email forwarding, email auto-reply, and Pantheon web pages cease to function at that time, and other data stored on the email and Pantheon servers will no longer be accessible.  Please note: Students who become employees by taking summer jobs or other appointments with the University are reclassified by Human Resources.  These accounts are terminated 21 days after their job ends, with a notification email sent to their account of record 14 days before that account is deactivated.

Additional updates are announced on the ITS Status page:  http://www.yale.edu/its/status .
