RESEARCH MATERIALS SHIPPING

  • If you are shipping research materials from Yale University (effective October 12, 2010) to another institution, you may now proceed directly to Yale’s Express Shipping tool, eShipGlobal, and enter your information there. Approval through the Research Materials a Research Materials Shipment Request process is no longer required.
  • If you are using TR&S to transport research materials between Yale Campuses (i.e. Medical School and Science Area, Science Area and West Campus, etc.) please continue to complete and submit Research Materials Shipment Requests.
  • If you are using the Chemical Stockroom to ship non-regulated newly synthesized chemicals, please continue to complete and submit Research Materials Shipment Requests.

Non Regulated Biological Material Shipment Form:
Submit Online NON-REGULATED BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS
If the biological material you are shipping:
  • does not contain human or animal pathogen(s),
  • is not a material of human or animal origin,
  • is not a genetically modified microorganism infectious to humans or animals, including defective pathogen vectors, or a genetically modified organism containing a human or animal pathogen,
  • is not a genetic element or plasmid associated with the pathogenicity or toxicity of organisms,
  • is not packaged with dry ice or liquid nitrogen.

Pre-Authorized (PAN) Shipment Form:
Submit On PRE-AUTHORIZED (PAN) RESEARCH MATERIAL SHIPPING REQUEST
PAN Shipments are those shipments that have been previously submitted using a Research Materials Shipment Request form. Once reviewed and approved by EHS, the shipper will receive an email which will include the Pre-Authorization Number (PAN) and its expiration date. Pre-Authorization Numbers (PAC) may only be used:
  • to ship the same material,
  • to the same recipient, and
  • to the same institution as outlined in your original shipment request.

  • is newly synthesized, or previously imported by staff in your laboratory, to be used solely for scientific experimentation, analysis, or research purposes within the United States, the chemical may not be regulated when shipped,
  • is not packaged with dry ice or liquid nitrogen,
