BY AIR
TWEED-NEW HAVEN AIRPORT
The closest airport to campus, Tweed-New Haven, is a short 10-minute taxi ride to campus.  US Airways offers regional jet service to and from Cincinnati, with three outgoing and three incoming flights daily.  Flight times are scheduled to coordinate with connections in Cincinnati, with a usual lay-over of 1 1/2 hours, no more than 2 hours. A US Airways affiliate also has flights to Tweed-New Haven, with connections through Philadelphia.  For domestic travel, it is worth checking the price of these flights, given the high cost of shuttles from New York and Hartford.

•Taxi service from the airport to hotels and campus costs $10 to $12; contact Metro Taxi, 777-7777.

HARTFORD: BRADLEY AIRPORT
Bradley Airport is located north of Hartford, about 1 hour from New Haven, 1 1/2 hours during rush hour; serviced by all major airline carriers.
From Bradley to New Haven:

•Go Airport Shuttle, 866-284-3247, http://goairportshuttle.com.  $60 one way fare, pickup and drop off directly at hotel.
•Rental cars and taxis are also available from Bradley Airport.  If sharing a taxi ride, the cost may be lower than two or three fares on Go Shuttle.
•Also operating to New Haven, Connecticut Limousine (a bus, not a limo), 800- 472-LIMO, http://www.ctlimo.com.  $132 round-trip.

NEW YORK AREA AIRPORTS - KENNEDY, LAGUARDIA & NEWARK
Approximately 2 to 3 hours from campus.

•Amtrak (800) 872-7245, www.amtrak.com, from Newark Airport (typically, $80 round trip / $40 one way, per passenger) to New Haven’s Union Station, a short, $6 cab ride from campus.
• From LGA and JFK: Go Airport Shuttle, 866-284-3247, http://goairportshuttle.com.  $68 one way fare, pickup and drop off directly at hotel. Yale Travel Services recommends this shuttle.
•Also operating to New Haven from LGA and JFK: Connecticut Limousine (a bus, not a limo), 800- 472-LIMO, http://www.ctlimo.com $68.00 one way, $132.00 round trip. (In the past there has been a Yale discount for pick-up and deliveries at Phelps Gate, in the central campus area and two blocks from the Omni hotel).

BY TRAIN OR BUS
Amtrak (800) 872-7245, www.amtrak.com, and Metro North Commuter Railroad (800) 638-7646, www.mta.nyc.ny.us, offer frequent regular service to New Haven’s Union Station. Metro North costs considerably less than Amtrak. Average travel times by regular rail to New Haven are as follows: from Boston 3 hours, from New York 2 hours, from Philadelphia 4 hours.

•Union Station is a short, $6 cab ride from campus.  A Yale Shuttle (red line) operates from Union station to central campus.  Technically, you’re supposed to present a Yale ID, but bus drivers tend to be generous with visitors to campus.
