Water Analysis of a Subwatershed
of Crooked Brook
Totoket Mountain, North Branford, CT

THE STUDY:

We measured levels of calcium, magnesium, and sodium in precipitation and streamwater of a subwatershed of Crooked Brook.  Calcium and magnesium are important nutrients for the flora measured in other sections of the overall study, so our values can provide insight into the larger nutrient flows in the Totoket Mountain system.  In addition, these elements are relatively easy to detect using the analytical equipment available to us.
