Funds Management
Funds Management is responsible for administering the University's gift funds - both spendable and endowment, unrestricted and restricted. This includes:
- Setting up new funds, including spendable, endowment, funds functioning as endowment, plant and student loans
- Financial stewardship of restricted funds
- Allocating gifts to the University to the appropriate fund
- Monitoring compliance with donor restrictions
Funds Management acts as a liaison with the Office of Development, Provost's Office, Investment Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis and Capital Management as well as with FAS Departments and the University's Professional Schools.
Services
Funds Management provides services in the following areas:
- Provides advice and counsel in the establishment of new gift funds
- Maintains ALICE, the University's funds database
- Acts as an expert resource regarding the usage of restricted gifts
- Serves as a permanent member of the University's Gift Implementation and Stewardship Committee (GISC) to ensure compliance with donors restrictions
