Alcohol Awareness Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPs)
“TIPs” is a nationally recognized program for controlling the risk created in the selling and serving of alcohol. This program is geared towards persons working as bartenders or servers at Yale functions or banquets, or at events catered by Yale Dining Services.
Participants must pass a “TIPs” exam to receive a certification card which is good for three years, and may be transferable to other serving situations.
Participants in the “TIPs” program will gain the confidence to react to situations and ensure alcohol is served responsibly and legally.
Although this program was previously offered in a classroom setting, effective 7/1/2010, the training is now on line through www.gettips.com. Please contact the Office of Risk Management to request access to training. You will need to provide your Yale net ID and e:mail address. The Office of Risk Management will send you ID and Registration numbers, along with instructions on how to access the on line training from the Gettips website.
