GHLI Faculty Member Leads First of Its Kind

Yale-Fuwai Session on Outcomes Research

Beijing, China

Dr. Harlan Krumholz, Professor of Medicine and GHLI faculty at Yale, was part of a delegation of physicians and researchers from the United States who participated in a Yale-Fuwai Session in Beijing, China at the 2009 International Heart Forum.  The Yale-Fuwai Session was the first of its kind to promote international collaboration in the field of outcomes research.  Dr. Krumholz helped kick-off the Forum with a plenary presentation titled, "Guidelines, Personalized Medicine and Common Sense." In a session on topics related to coronary heart disease, he gave a talk titled, "STEMI Systems: Changing the Approach to Care."   During the Yale-Fuwai Session, he presented, "Lipid Levels and Evidence-Based Decisions."  

Chen Zhu, China's Minister of Health, meets with Dr. Krumholz to discuss the role of outcomes research in improving health systems.
