100 Tower Parkway

100 Tower Parkway is one of the newest dormitories Yale has built. It is near the center of campus, located across the street from the Sterling Library, the Hall of Graduate Studies, the Law School, and Payne Whitney gym. For the past 10 years, it has housed the residents of each undergraduate college as their College underwent a year–long renovation project. This swinging door rotation of residents has given it a campus nickname: “Swing Dorm”. Now that the Colleges are completing their renovation cycle, 100 Tower Parkway will be used as upper-class “overflow” housing from the Colleges with some suites made available to the Graduate and Professional school students applying for dormitory housing.
The Graduate Housing Office will be renting a varied number of 2–person suites at 100 Tower Parkway starting in the 2011–2012 academic year. The 2–person suites are approximately 600 square feet and include a kitchenette, living room, 2 separate and lockable single bedrooms, and a bathroom area. The kitchenette has a single basin sink, stove–top burners and small counter space for food preparation. There is cupboard shelving on the walls and space under the counters for a mini–refrigerator. There is a small dinette set for eating meals. The living room comes furnished with a couch and/or chairs and coffee tables. The bedrooms have approximately 150 sq feet of living space, furnished with a bed and mattress, desk and desk chair. View a sample suite layout.
Graduate students living in 100 Tower Parkway will share their common lounges and study spaces with undergrads, creating new friendships and informal mentoring relationships.
In addition, rooms at 100 Tower Parkway are provided with an internet port, cable television port, and telephone port. Students must activate the telephone port (via Yale University Telecom services) to use the land–line telephone system. There is a separate charge for use of the telephone (and long–distance charges) but no additional charges for accessing the internet or cable tv. Students accessing the Yale network must register their computers for full use of the internet. All of 100 TP is on the University’s wireless network for student convenience!

Students living in 100 Tower Parkway must rent a PO Box at Yale Station upon arrival as there is no direct mail delivered to the dormitory. Students may also choose to make arrangements to have mail delivered directly to their academic department addresses. Packages that cannot be delivered to a United States PO Box, can be delivered to the Graduate Dormitory Housing Office. Upon email notification of receipt, students can claim their packages during business day hours.
