Helen Hadley Hall
Built in 1958, Helen Hadley Hall (HHH), 420 Temple Street, is within easy walking distance of the Graduate School, libraries, science buildings, Law School, School of Music and the School of Management. Hadley is on the shuttle bus route, providing convenient access to all points on campus. The backyard patio is nicely landscaped and has picnic tables and a grill for warm weather get-togethers.

Of the 175 rooms, most are medium size with a few extra-large rooms making up the balance. Rooms have standard university provided bedroom furniture: extra-long twin-sized bed frame & mattress, desk, desk chair, and bookshelf. Rooms at HHH also have a built in closet and vanity mirror, lighting, and dresser drawers. There is one window per room, dressed with vertical blinds. To view a sample floor plan, please click here.
Each of the five (5) resident floors is accessed by two elevators and two stairways. HHH residence floors are co-ed with approximately 18 men and 18 women assigned to each floor. The 3rd floor of HHH is gender specific, meaning men are assigned into adjacent rooms closest to the men’s bathroom; women are assigned into adjacent rooms closest to the women’s bathroom.
In addition, HHH rooms are provided with an internet port, cable television port, and telephone port. Students must activate the telephone port (via Yale University Telecom services) to use the land-line telephone system. There is a separate charge for use of the telephone (and long-distance charges) but no additional charges for accessing the internet or cable tv. Students accessing the Yale network must register their computers at www.yale.edu/netreg, for full use of the internet. All of HHH is on the University’s wireless network for student convenience!

Student Medium Sized Bedroom
133 sq. ft
The large, ground floor common room is a spacious and bright, sunlit area and is well suited for the dormitory's social functions, parties and reading/study groups. The Common Room contains a fireplace, piano, a small library, pool table, ping pong table, foosball, vending machines, and an adjoining “conference room” with table, chairs, cable TV and VCR/DVD unit. In 2008, the Graduate Housing Office added a small gym with various work-out equipment and free-weights to the Common Room for exclusive use of the Hadley residents. The ground floor also hosts a University sponsored computer room available 24 hours a day, limited in-door bicycle storage, and residents' mailboxes.
Mail is received by the US Postal system Monday–Saturday and distributed to student mail boxes. Student packages are received by the GHO and available to students during evenings and weekend Package Pick-up hours in the lobby of HHH.
Each floor has a laundry room, storage areas for small items, separate men's and women's bathrooms, kitchens for light food preparation only with a dining area (with television and VCR/DVD units). The kitchens on each floor have two (2) stove and oven units, two (2) sinks and separate counter areas for food preparation, two (2) toaster/toaster ovens, and two (2) microwaves. The kitchens also have two (2) large freezers; residents must provide and maintain their own refrigerator (5 cu. ft. or less) in their room. Microwaves are not permitted in students bedrooms. Storage of any kitchenware or food is prohibited in the kitchens. Residents are required to clean up after themselves and abide by all kitchen rules as posted.
HHH is a locked facility. Individuals must have ID cards activated to work on the entry doors of HHH as well as the elevator. Stairwells are locked at the ground level so only residents of HHH (with keys) can enter the stairwell to access the residential floors.
