Graduate Career Services

Graduate Career Services (GCS) is a career center for students and alumni/ae of Yale University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Through individual advising, programs and a library of resource materials as well as internet resources, the office assists graduate students and alumni/ae with career planning and decision-making. Students are encouraged to take advantage of “drop-in” advising hours or to make individual advising appointments. GCS consults with directors of graduate studies to develop programs that supplement the department’s role in the professional development of students pursuing an academic career. For graduate students considering careers beyond academia, GCS initiates programs and develops links with employers who seek the skills of our students and alumni/ae. GCS encourages students to begin using the services of the office early in their graduate careers in order to expand the choices they will have upon completion of their degrees. Postdoctoral fellows are invited to attend workshops offered through GCS. For individual career advising appointments postdoctoral fellows should contact the Office for Postdoctoral Affairs.
