Graduate Student Life coordinates programs, services and resources to foster a sense of community among students and postdoctoral fellows in the Graduate School. Throughout the year, the assistant dean, staff and fellows organize programs within the McDougal Center, across campus and in New Haven. Along with a wide variety of social events, Graduate Student Life sponsors arts, music, sports and wellness events; family-oriented and international student activities; coffeehouse nights and language conversation groups at the Blue Dog Café; and public service opportunities. This office coordinates orientation for new students and Commencement activities for the Graduate School and advises graduate student organizations. The assistant dean provides information, advice and advocacy for all students in the Graduate School regarding personal concerns and student life issues, including the delivery of University services and life in New Haven.
