Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale  80 Wall Street, New Haven, CT, 06511

Dear Class of 2012,

Welcome to Yale!

We’re Emma Guttman-Slater and Isaac Arnsdorf, Hillel’s 2008 Camp Yale Coordinators. With our own freshman years still fresh in our memories, we’re excited to help you start yours with a bang.

Camp Yale is bound to be one of the busiest and most exciting weeks you’ve had in a while, and we hope that you’ll find time to spend part of it with us. Your first few days in the Have’ will be jam-packed with new experiences, and we want to make you feel welcome at Hillel.

We know that you’ve been flooded with information from Yale, but we're glad you're curious about Jewish life here. Hillel is a major presence on campus, with loads of social, spiritual, and educational events. It’s always open for great food, services, studying, or just to chill. Housed in the Slifka Center, Hillel hosts a klezmer band, Hebrew a cappella troupe, several minyanim, and lots of Israel-themed programming. Our Sunday bagel brunches are always the place to be. No matter your background, and no matter what you’re looking for in Jewish life, chances are we have something that you’ll find fun and meaningful.

We have put together a schedule of events and activities to introduce you to our community. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. We hope that, starting with your first week, Hillel will become a valuable part of your life at Yale.

Enjoy the rest of your summers, and we can’t wait to meet you in August.

Emma and Isaac
