Joined in a Same-Sex Marriage
If you have recently been joined in a same-sex marriage, this qualifies as a life event and allows you to enroll your new same-sex marriage partner, along with your new stepchild(ren), if applicable, to Yale's medical or dental providers.
You must add this qualifying life event within 30 days of the date of your same-sex marriage using the My Benefits website, which can be accessed through the University portal (www.yale.edu/portal). For instructions, please refer to the My Benefits: Adding a Life Event Quick Guide.
The following documentation is also required and must be submitted to Hewitt:
