General purpose:
Perform daily housekeeping services throughout the Center providing a clean, sanitary, safe and pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Essential duties:
Clean assigned areas in accordance with infection control policies. Cleaning tasks will include waiting rooms, patient areas, bathrooms, offices, medical equipment, utility rooms, and other areas or equipment needed to maintain a clean and safe environment for the delivery of health care.
Sort clean laundry and maintain laundry supply within assigned area.
Remove trash as needed, handle soiled laundry for pick-up by laundry service.
Communicate with staff to insure that departmental cleaning needs are met.
Check assigned areas for needed repairs and maintenance; report these needs to appropriate party and follow up to assure completion.
Maintain logs of water and refrigerator temperatures in compliance with state codes.
Maintain supply levels as required.
Experience and training:
Little or no work
experience and a high school level education, or an equivalent combination
of experience and education.
PREFERRED: Knowledge of hospital cleaning and infection control practices.
Skills and abilities:
Good customer service skills.
Ability to work well with a variety of different personalities.
