About Us
The Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology was launched at Yale University’s new West Campus in the summer of 2008. The center offers affordable access to cutting edge screening, confocal microscopy, assay development, RNAi, and informatics resources and expertise at reduced rates.
Mission:
The Center will serve as a major technological resource at Yale and beyond by developing and providing methodology for RNAi and other high- throughput screens to probe basic cellular mechanisms and, in due course, the function of human disease genes. The Center is supported academically and administratively by the Department of Cell Biology.
Governance:
The Center is run on a day-to-day basis by its Director and overseen by a Faculty Advisory Committee composed of a Chair and members of the faculty. The mission of the Committee is to provide a strategic plan for the Center, foster its interactions with the faculty, review its progress, and advise on any operational issues and problems that may arise. The Committee will also work with the University Administration to align the goals of the Center with its Institutional mission and resources. Dr. Tobias Walther serves as chair of the advisory committee.
