The Digital Media Center for the Arts at
Yale is proud to be a participant in the 2008 Yale IDEA awards. The DMCA prize
will be awarded to an IDEA contest entrant in the category of digital art.
The DMCA prize is dedicated to the memory of
Dan Abrams, who died tragically on November 3rd, 2008. Dan was involved in many
creative activities, from his first discipline of computer science, through
digital video and computer graphics to computer-mediated artwork of many forms.
As a student computing assistant at the DMCA he assisted and instructed
innumerable students in the use of new technology.
The
Contest Challenge:
Submitted artwork may be any medium in
which digital processes or concepts are integral to the creation of the work.
Work in digital mediums must be submitted through the IDEA website.
Work existing in other mediums may be submitted to the DMCA, 149 York
street, room 106, by the contest deadline. Submitted works can be picked up
from the DMCA after February 19th. Questions regarding submissions may be
directed to ken.lovell@yale.edu.

Consideration will be given to the

Prize:
The selected winner will receive an LCD
ultra-portable projector.
