Advanced Web Page Creation HTML Information Using Past Web files

Basic Information

Log in to https://classes.yale.edu/teach and you'll find a drop-down list of classes that you teach. Choose the one you plan to work on.

Your web pages will all go into the "Web Pages" section. We advise that you use a web page editor like Netscape Composer to create your web pages. Or you can create a document in Word and save it as a web page.

Before you start making web pages it is helpful to experiment with Netscape Composer, look at the on-line tutorial and become familiar with the various menus.

We recommend that you organize your web files on your personal computer so that they can easily be uploaded to the classes server. Organizing your web site for the classes server

The first file to create will be called index.html. This insures that this is the document that students will see when they sign up for your class via the student interface on the classes server.
