Getting
Started with HTML
Although
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is not difficult to learn, it can
be time consuming to use and many people prefer to use an HTML Editor
(which creates the HTML for you).
HTML
A
Beginner's Guide to HTML by NCSA (National Center for Supercomputing
Applications) provides a comprehensive reference including a printable
copy of the guide.
HTML Editors:
Netscape Composer
(free) For the first-time web page creator, Netscape Composer is
a good place to start. Simply choose "Composer" under
the "Communicator" menu and start composing. The online
help is easy to follow. Click
here to see how to create a simple homepage using Composer.
For more advanced users,
Dreamweaver
by Macromedia is powerful.
You can also create
a simple Word document and save it as a webpage.
