Carol Wade is the Canon Liturgist at the Washington National Cathedral where she oversees the worship life of that community. She holds masters degrees in Divinity and Sacred Theology from Yale University, and teaches at liturgical conferences and works as a retreat leader. This article is her Colloquium presentation while a student at the Institute in 2003; she received the Director's Prize for best Colloquium presentation that year.
