About Mailman Lists
Mailman is a powerful list management tool that provides easy communication among members of a group. They are maintained by the list administrators through a simple web interface. Mailman lists have addresses in the form listname@mailman.yale.edu. Mailman users must agree and adhere to the stated policies.

Deleting a Mailman List
You must fill out this form to request the deletion of a mailman list.
Transferring a Mailman List
You can transfer a mailman list via the General Options section of the mailing list administration page at http://mailman.yale.edu/mailman/admin/listname. Adding a new administrator and removing yourself will then transfer the ownership of the list.
Adding administrators to a Mailman List
You can add/remove administrators as necessary under the General Options section of the mailing list administration page at http://mailman.yale.edu/mailman/admin/listname. There are administrators, who control all aspects of a Mailman List, as well as moderators, who control posting to the Mailman List. You should set a different moderator password via the Passwords section of the list administration page.
Adding/removing subscribers
List administrators can add subscribers via the Membership Management section of the mailing list administration page at http://mailman.yale.edu/mailman/listinfo/listname. It is recommended that administrators invite people to join their mailing list rather than subscribe them by default.
In addition, administrators can choose how they would like to allow people to subscribe to their list. This is controlled by Subscription rules, under Privacy options in the list administration page.
Restricting mail to a Mailman List
By default, only list members can send mail to a Mailman List. The list administrator can choose to moderate all mail to a list or choose to allow anyone (including non-members) to mail to a list, and any combination in between. Unsubscribing from a Mailman List
To unsubscribe from a list, visit http://mailman.yale.edu/mailman/listinfo/listname and click on Unsubscribe or edit options. Then type your Email address and click on the Unsubscribe button. You will have a confirmation message emailed to you which will have a link that you should click on to complete the removal process (you can also confirm by email; see the instructions in the confirmation message). If you believe someone is abusing a Mailman list, then contact the postmaster through the online form and include the full headers of the message you received, so we can track it down.
