Sending Email to Non-Yale Users when Off Campus
If you need further assistance, please request help from a Student Tech.
We recommend that you configure your e-mail program to be able to securely send and receive email from all addresses, both at Yale and outside of Yale. To do so, you will need to configure up your e-mail program to use either SSL or TLS for both receiving and sending email.
Alternatively, if you only need to write a few e-mails to non-Yale addresses while off-campus, the easiest approach is to use Yale's Webmail.
A third option is to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to create a secure connection to the Yale network first, and then send e-mail from your local mail client. For more information, please go to VPN instructions.
