Calling cards
Eligibility
Faculty & staff
ITS-Network Services can provide University employees with a telephone calling card to be used in conjunction with University related business.
Special international access codes for use with the "Bulldog" calling card are necessary when calling from an overseas location and can be accessed here.
Students
Students are issued a calling card upon request. The calling card provides convenient calling when you are away from the campus. Long distance calls made with your YaleNet calling card will be billed to your bursar account and a detailed listing of the calls can be viewed here.
A Toll Authorization Number (TAN) should be used for long distance calling while you are on campus. The same rules for a TAN apply. Card numbers should be kept confidential. For information regarding billing and fraudulent use, see billing below.

The Network Services Department maintains an office at 221 Whitney Ave., on the first floor. We are dedicated to serving the needs of all Yale University graduate and undergraduate students. All residential Network Service related questions/problems may be directed here.

Billing information
Yale Residential Telephone Service
(This section applies to graduate students only)
All charges for residence telephone service and/or telephone rentals are due in full for the entire academic year at the time of application. You can pay by check or money order, or have the charges billed to your active Yale Charge Account. There can only be one billing party for each telephone. The primary billing party is responsible for all charges incurred for direct dialed and collect calls billed to his/her telephone number until service is canceled in person at the ITS-Network Services Residential Services office at 221 Whitney Ave., first floor.
YaleNet Toll Billing
The total charge for YaleNet calls will be billed monthly to the academic portion of your Bursar bill. Your Bursar Account must be paid in accordance with University policy (refer to UNDERGRADUATE REGULATIONS). To view a listing of long distance calls go here.
Monthly Call Detail Statement - Students
To view a detailed listing of calls made through YALENET and calling card calls billed to your bursar account please go here. It will show the originating station number, the number called, the time of day, the duration of the call, the cost and the date of each call.
Statements On-line - available to Administrative Staff Only
The Data Warehouse Portal is available to administrative staff for viewing monthly recurring charge detail for Email, Ethernet, PPP, Telephone service, pagers and long distance toll, credit card and cellular charges. Your Business Manager must set up access to the Data Warehouse in advance.
Disputed calls
If you feel you were incorrectly billed for a particular call, ITS-Network Services is to be notified no later than fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of the Bursar billing statement in question. ITS-Network Services will respond to you within 15 days of receipt of the complaint. In cases where credit is warranted, correcting entries will be made through the Bursar system.
