Rishard has been very fortunate to begin his kendo career at Koushinkan. He would like to thank Daniel Zoot and the rest of the club for welcoming him to their practices. He is a chemical engineering major working in a biotech lab at present. Rishard has also had a full year's instruction in Iaido, a related art that involves performing kata with an unsharpened sword. Iai is also very cool, but it requires simultaneous practice in kendo to give it true meaning and depth.

Rishard now attends the graduate program for biochemical engineering at Cornell University.
