random people logging in?

I have random people trying to log in ftp once a month or so, should I be
worried, I don't think so but what I want to know is how they find
my address. I have updated to the latest packages for redhat so I think
security is not much of an issue its just annoying that they come from
norway to try to hack my server if that's what they are doing.
