Howdy. I kind of feel awkward asking this, since I tend not to like to
use lists like this for posting the moral equivalent of "want ads," but on
the other hand, I thought that maybe some people here would be interested.
There are a bunch of relatively small, self-contained programming projects
I would like to start working on soon -- so many that it could be hard for
me to do them by myself and still enjoy them all. Most of these projects
are run-of-the-mill, web-related things in Java/JDBC, CGI (via perl), and
(unfortunately) ASP; they're not the most interesting stuff I'm doing (how
often do you see THAT in a "want ad," but there's no *way* I'm not going
to be honest about this!), but they might be fun, and I'm willing to teach
web-programming concepts (e.g., the CGI model, servlet programming, etc.)
to people who are solid, quick, experienced programmers. Where I can help
it, the platform these run on will be Unix -- probably Linux. If I end up
working with other people on these, pay will be good and will involve a
stake in the final project(s), since that's (obviously) only fair.
Anyway, drop me a line if you're interested or curious. I'm basically
just trying to remind myself who the good programmers I know are. :) And
it could be lots of fun. (But, I should say, nothing's definite yet; I
may not actually need help right away, and some of the projects may not
pan out.) 'k? Thanks!
Shawn
PS -- If you're experienced with web-site *design* -- graphics, HTML,
DHTML, I may be looking for people like that too.
