There are a couple of questions I've been avoiding for a bit.
I'm running Yelldog Linux Champion Server 1.1 (a linux-ppc distribution) on a
powermac 7500/100. Right now I'm at kernel 2.2.6 (yeah, yeah yeah).
I use the machine mainly as a router and a test box; no monitor is connected to
it.
The questions are these: Aside from using linuxconf, which isn't the keenest
thing under the linux-ppc distributions, and which annoys me for other reasons,
how do I set which things get run and configured at startup?
Also, where/when in the name of all that is holy is the HOSTNAME variable set?
I didn't notice I had the caps lock on when I was reinstalling a few weeks ago
(someone hosed the machine over break), and it's driving me batty.
btw, if any of the ppc guys out there want to use a CD to install linuxppc
2000, tell me; Jason Haas promised to send me a free CD at MacWorld, and I'm
about to bug him about it.
Cheers,
Nathan
