I try to set up a small network in my house 3 Client computers, one
Server (2 of the Clients are windows). But I can't even get the two
linux machines to communicate :-(
One both have working ethernet cards, as I could run 'em seperately on
the network in HGS.
As far as HOWTO's are concerned I figured I have to adjust the following
files for my project:
I choose 172.16.0.1 for the IP of the server 'marvin' (later it should
dial in
with ppp -- long down the road)
and for the clients:
172.16.0.2 arthur
172.16.0.3 vogon
172.16.0.4 prefect
I figured I have to change
/etc/hosts
/etc/networks
/etc/route.conf
/etc/host.conf
Can anyone tell me how I can get at least the two linux machines to
communicate?
Both are directly connected through a Base T ethernet cable. the ohters
would later join in with a HUB.
Thanks a lot
