sorting and file edditing

I just put all my adresses together in a file and managed it to sort ist
for my needs with the 'sort' command. Now I still in this list many
repeating entries all nice and neatly following each other.

I believe there should be a simple and easy way to get rid of the
repeated lines, but it is quite long ago that I learned awk or something
like that.

Does anyone have a idea?
