Hello. Recently, I am having this problem with PPP. Half the time, when
I try to dial out, the modem does not even dial. I am running RH6.0 with
Window Maker. I get this error in /var/log/messages:

ifup-ppp: pppd started for ppp0 on /dev/modem at 115200
pppd[6772]: pppd 2.3.7 started by root, uid 0
chat[6774]: Can't get terminal parameters: Input/output error
pppd[6772]: Connect script failed
pppd[6772]: Exit

The routing table does not contain the ppp interface nor does
/sbin/ifconfig show it. Only rebooting seems to solve the problem.

Any suggestions?
