*Navigate 3-D panoramic scenes using Apple's new QuickTime VR , apple's virtual-reality software. This new technology enables users to explore 3600 scenes. Users can zoom in or out of a scene, navigate from one scene to another, and even pick up and rotate objects.

*Explore Apple's authoring capabilities with the new Apple Media Tool. This is a visual authoring environment that allows producers and designers to easily assemble media elements and add interactivity and navigation without scripting.

In addition to hands-on displays, Patrick Kuras, an Apple Systems Engineer, will hold two lectures in the conference room adjoining the demonstration area. Starting at 10:00 and repeated at 1:00, Patrick will discuss and demonstrate the multimedia authoring process, focusing on creating and editing QuickTime movies and assembling content into a finished program using the Apple Media Tool. Those attending the lecture will have an opportunity to win a copy of the Authoring tool worth over $400.
For the convenience of those on Central Campus, a special MCSC shuttle will travel back and forth from the front of Woolsey Hall to Sterling Hall of Medicine. The shuttle will run continuously from 9:30-3:00 so there's no excuse for sitting in your office word processing and missing this exciting event. See you there!
