The Yale College Democrats will host a conference featuring talks and workshops on a variety of political and public policy issues on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18.
The event, which is open to members of the Yale and New Haven communities, will also be the College Democrats of America's Region One Conference, and will bring together College Democrats from institutions of higher learning throughout the Northeast.
The conference will feature talks by Connecticut Democratic Party Chair Ed Marcus, Connecticut Congressman Jim Maloney (D-5) and Democratic National Committee Field Program Director Heather Booth, among others.
State and local politicians and political activitists will join Yale professors and students for workshops focusing on such issues as grassroots organizing, media relations, campaign strategy, lobbying, urban issues and genetic engineering.
