First Lady visits her alma mater to speak about womenÕs rights and public education

First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton was greeted with loud applause on opposite ends of the campus on April 30, when she gave talks on two topics that have been major concerns to her since her student days at the Law School: women's rights and education.

Clinton, a 1973 graduate of the Law School, began her visit at the Divinity School with a morning talk merging the themes of religious faith and how women discover and use their voices for the benefit of their communities. Later in the afternoon, Clinton appeared at the School of Medicine to give an address as part of a symposium celebrating the 30th anniversary of the School Development Program, a comprehensive strategy to improve public schools founded by Yale child psychiatrist Dr. James Comer.
