Peace Games at Yale is a program that is staffed and run by Yale undergraduates.

Coordinators

The coordinators oversee both day to day operations of the Peace Games program as well as setting the strategy for the future of Peace Games.

Festival Committee

The Festival Committee oversees the logistics, does the groundwork and staffs and supplies the annual Peace Games at Yale Festival, in which all the Peace Games at Yale students meet for a day of workshops, guest speakers, and other enjoyable activities.

Curriculum

The Peace Games Curriculum is an eight session program designed to teach students the fundementals of cooperation and confict and give them hands on experience in solving problems using non-violent and cooperative methods. The Curriculum is taught in Middle Schools in the greater New Haven area. There are two teaching periods, one in the fall and one in the spring. The Fall program runs eight weeks, with three of those weeks occuring in early January. The Spring programs run in cycles of six to eight weeks and culminate in the weeks before the festival. Staff

The Peace Games at Yale teaching staff consists entirely of Yale Undergraduates. Volunteers must attend a training session, where the curriculum is discussed in detail and the teachers are given advice on and acquire skills for the teaching of middle school students from varying and diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Festival

The annual Peace Games at Yale Festival is a day long event in which all the Peace Games at Yale students meet for a day of workshops, guest speakers, and other enjoyable activities. The students also share their own Peace Games which they create during the curriculum. The event is usually held at Yale in the early spring. Local merchants, restaurants and community groups donate both time and resources to the Festival. Click here for more information about the festival.

Peace Games at Yale is a Non-Profit Organization under Federal Tax Provision 501(c)3. Peace Games at Yale is a registered undergraduate organization and a member of Dwight Hall at Yale, a community service organization umbrella group.
