The School of Drama is a professional school offering graduate degrees in nine programs covering all major disciplines within theater: Acting, Design, Sound Design, Directing, Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism, Playwriting, Stage Management, Technical Design and Production, and Theater Management. In addition, the Drama School is a conservatory for theater training utilizing Yale Repertory Theatre as a laboratory in which theoretical study in the classroom can be related continuously to professional practice in production work. For the School of Drama, policies and practices specified in this section take precedence over conflicting policies and practices contained in other sections of the Faculty Handbook .
