| ABOUT US |
Yale Science Diplomats are a campus group devoted to educating the public about science issues that affect us as Americans, encouraging scientists to become engaged in the political process, and interacting with politicians to guide them in making informed decisions based on good science, ultimately holding them accountable for these positions. Motivated by the enormous impact science and technology policy decisions will have on our future, and the conviction that as scientists we have a valuable voice rarely heard, our group is actively working to address topics as diverse as climate change and healthcare.
Perhaps our most successful program to date is our Science In the News series, a series of fun lectures given in the Spring by grad students and post-docs to the community.
The group was formerly know as the Scientists and Engineers for America (SEA) chapter at Yale, and was founded in 2007-2008 by several graduate students after they learned of the organization at a career fair in New York City.
